The Academic Year is the first in a series of books at the intersection of photography and literature. Born out of the experience of the ongoing SPBH Pamphlet series, it part of a long ongoing collaboration between artist Rut Blees Luxemburg and philosopher Alexander García Düttmann.
Rut Blees Luxemburg is an artist living in London. Her photographic work explores urban perceptions and brings to light the overlooked, the dismissed and the unforeseen.
Alexander García Düttmann teaches aesthetics at the University of the Arts in Berlin. His publications include the books “Naive Art: An Essay on Happiness” (2012) and “What Does Art Know?” (2015).
